Stigning Folder #007 (As shown with no filter and available immediately)
The word Stigning means Climb in Norwegian. When you think of a heavy use reliable folder that is robust yet still light weight and able to conquer the elements on an 8000M mountain peak, we want you to think of this knife.
The blade is over .200″ thick Nitro-V stainless steel with our Loki Finish that has been heat treated, air/plate quenched and tempered to 60HRC (Rockwell Hardness). The grind was accomplished by hand using a 12″ grind wheel radius and 60/120 grit belts before heat treating as to not change the molecular composition of the steel, leaving it with astounding edge retention and strength.
The handles are made from aerospace Grade 5 Titanium (6Al4V) and were machined by hand without the use of CNC. Every hole, tap and counterbore was carefully measured, sized, and machined to within .0005″ tolerances. The handles were then softened, sculpted, media blasted and stonewashed for a soft, but not slippery grip when using.
This knife is the ONLY model from Scorpion 6 Knives currently that is on Phosphor Bronze washers (one .010″ washer on each side). What does this mean? The movement will not be as free as you would experience on ball bearings, but it will endure the elements/dirt/heavy use more efficiently. The swing will get smoother as the knife breaks in, but it will not “drop shut”.
