Momentum vs. Motivation

Motivation is the “why”. The reason for the change.

You are motivated to look better, you are motivated to make more money. That’s your “why”.

Why is easy. Wants and needs are simple to quantify.

Everyone says to grab the bull by the horns, but what happens when you have two handfuls of horns and a now highly irritated bull to deal with?

That is momentum…

Generating momentum is the critical part of success.

Momentum is what’s going to get you to take the steps necessary to move forward and get out of the daily patterns that have your life sedentary, vanilla, and underachieving.

Think of Newton’s first law of motion: An object at rest remains at rest, and an object in motion remains in motion at constant speed and in a straight line unless acted on by an unbalanced force.

Sweet… now we’re talking about bulls and physics.

The point of all this, motivation, momentum, bull horns, and Newton come down to one thing…

No matter how motivated you are, you will never achieve your goals without momentum. You need movement, no matter how small, and it needs to come from an “unbalanced” force- or different than your usual trends.

10 push-ups a day is better than zero. 1 page of a book read per day is better than zero. You don’t need to go out and run a marathon on day one.

Small steps. Everyday. No excuses.

Build your momentum…

Physics has proven that this is true, and works 100% of the time.
